1. English only (Probably the most common thing we say to the kids is "English only!")
2. Hands to yourself
3. Bum on the floor (or chair)
4. Eyes on teacher
5. No toys in class
BUT during snack time, the kids are allowed to speak Russian and sometimes it just makes me chuckle because it's so cute to hear them speak it and because sometimes Russian sounds like a little bit of a crazy language! I filmed a few of the kids eating their snacks and talking on May 8th. The boy with the eye patch is Christian, and then clockwise from Christian is Misha, Ilusha, Mary, Masha, and Sasha (who comes and goes during the video). Masha and Sasha are not in our class. They're a little bit older and they're in the Basic Reading class, but they eat their snack at the same time that our kids do.
